An American sculptor and originator of the ‘mobile’ – a sculptor out of balanced or suspended shapes that move in response to touch or air currents.

Working between Paris and New York, Calder created very divers pieces including sculptures, drawings, paintings, jewelry, and set designs – redefining sculpture by introducing the element of movement made the artist famous.
